Through the Curtain
Jonquils this morning in a neighbor's yard.
The tabernacle was separated from the rest of the Jewish Temple by a curtain. Animal sacrifice was offered for the people by the high priest year after year. The author of the Letter to the Hebrews says that the dying and rising of Jesus is a "once and for all" sacrifice. His "flesh" is the "living opening through the curtain" (10:20) that enables us to pass from our world into the Other World.
